My approach is individualized and based on your strengths, meaning that you have the intuitive resources to be empowered. In our work together, we will use your self-awareness to build a strong sense of self and thereby create a new way of being. So as you and I begin the work the appropriate methodology will reveal itself.

I utilize therapeutic approaches that complement one another. The following are a few of the approaches I embrace: Transpersonal Psychotherapy views the individual as a whole seeking a balanced development of the intellect, emotional, spiritual, physical, social and creative expressions aspects of a person’s life and affirming the inherent value of the individual. Transpersonal Psychology is said to encompass Holistic and Integrative psychotherapies. Each offers a slightly different approach that allows for an individual approach. Holistic Psychotherapy considers the physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional aspects of a person as a whole and focusing on the relationship a person has with their world. Integrative Psychotherapy approach affirms the inherent value of the individual unifying the personality; taking disowned, unaware, or unresolved aspects of the self and making them part of a cohesive personality to facilitate wholeness.

I believe that therapy must also embrace a practical approach so I also utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which provides a correlation between beliefs, feelings, and thoughts, and the effect these have on behavior patterns and actions. One method used to explore beliefs and feelings in promoting change is Motivational Interviewing that is client centered and semi directive eliciting motivation for change. It is a non-judgmental and non-confrontational approach working through difficult conversations and resistance helping clients think differently about behaviors and consider what might be gained by change.

I also embrace Energy Psychology using techniques such as Emotional Freedom Technique commonly known as EFT, Tapping, or Meridian Tapping to access stuck emotions utilizing a very simple technique that I can teach you. I may also utilize energy techniques such as the study of Kinesiology in the practice of Muscle Testing, which allows us to access information that is not otherwise available to the conscious mind. This technique can assist you in accessing your highest guidance and deepest wisdom.

Another technique I find helpful is Guided Imagery. It is a powerful tool in promoting emotional health and goal attainment. Although it is not considered a method directly involving the manipulation of energy centers, it does certainly support the body-mind connection by accessing painful emotions, uncovering inner truth, and stimulating healing.

I also draw from the information that is contained in the Chakra System. A chakra is believed to be a center of activity that receives, assimilates, and expresses life force energy. This system is a key to our ability to interpret the symbolic meaning in our life. It is thought to vitalize the physical body in seven areas of functioning and associated with interactions of a physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual nature. When they are not in harmony, an imbalance will be experienced in our life.

I will also draw on Archetypal Symbolism. Archetypes are ancient patterns and symbols that are emulated as roles or characters we portray that are universally recognized. Archetypal patterns are ever present and are applied symbolically to our day-to-day existence. It is one way we organize and bring meaning to our lives. There are four universal archetypes constant in each of our lives that symbolize major life challenges related to the physical dimension of survival, which are the Child, Victim, Prostitute, and Saboteur.
